FAQ

GIG CHAMBER MUSIC

If you have spent hundreds of dollars buying chamber music arrangements for use in gigs only to find out they did not work, just like I did, this is the place where you can finally get music that not only sounds great but it is sightreadable and it just works like a charm for gig situations like wedding ceremonies, private parties, receptions, etc.

All these arrangements have been played many, many times. The professional musicians that perform with me just love playing these arrangements. Needless to say the reaction from nonmusicians (guests of weddings, receptions, etc.) is even more overwhelming.

I am a professional symphony musician. I have spent a small fortune buying music that I never use. My frustration due to the poor quality of the available printed sheet music was so great that I started to arrange music myself. To my amazement the first arrangements I did were already much better than the music I was regularly buying. I felt very encouraged by the results and kept doing more and more arrangements. Obviously I have now collected quite a number of arrangements that just sound great.

The chamber music repertoire is large, most classical composers wrote quite a lot of chamber music. But a great percentage of it is not "gig" music. I would dare say that there is a higher percentage of gig music in the nonchamber music realm and we do not hear these works often enough.

Professional musicians should be able to sight read gig music on the spot without the need to rehearse. Page turns should be avoided at all costs. Articulations, fingerings, phrasing marks, bowings, etc. should help the musician sight read musically. The quality of the printing should be first class. All these requirements are met in my arrangements (I always hated to read manuscript music with the key signature only in the first system). I use a 600 dpi laser printer. The music printed is incredibly sharp and crisp. The commercial printing does not even come close to this quality.

All my musician friends want to buy my arrangements. This is why I decided to set up this site and offer a greater number of professional musicians the chance to use this music. I am sure they will agree with my colleages that finally this is gig music that does not suck, quite the contrary it sounds great!
